Captain Jeff Wilmarth was born and raised on the Oregon Coast. As a young angler his family introduced him to saltwater fishing. This life long passion was reignited in 2015 when he purchased his first offshore boat. In 2020 Jeff took a sabbatical from his career as a firefighter and started a saltwater guide service that is now known as PacificPond Charters. Jeff is passionate and committed in providing a safe and fun environment for anglers of all ages to enjoy saltwater fishing.

Our Story
THE PAST
Our team got their start as youthful anglers on the south coast of Oregon. In the early years of PacificPond our team focused on not what other people were doing but how to improve on what was already being done. Through research and development we cracked the code and helped lead the charge on trophy sized fish on the Oregon coast.
Developing the program
THE PRESENT
In 2022 we put our Edge Marine offshores into service. Armed with state-of-the-art marine electronics, increased range, ride comfort and rough water capabilities we hit the ground running. With a record setting year of 60 lingcod over trophy class and roughly 230 halibut up to 95 pounds across its rails its proven to be a worth platform for our team and clients alike. While leading the charge on the Oregon halibut and lingcod fishing our team is no slouch when it comes to offshore tuna fishing either. Captain Trevor Moore set a new personal best of 64 Albacore tuna in just an 8 hours.

Moving Forward
THE FUTURE
Looking into the future, the more understanding that we gain the more we are realizing that there are amazing opportunities offshore of the Oregon coast. In 2023 we are set to explore the full extent of what our platforms have to offer. We are going to focus on offshore salmon fishing and trying to target other pelagic species. In future years we hope to make another large investment into a vessel that is capable of accessing the unfished distant waters off the Oregon Coast.
